Christopher Nolan's reinvention of the "Batman" saga follows Bruce Wayne, enraged by the murder of his parents, to Tibet, where he trains with a ninja clan led by the mysterious Ra's Al Ghul. Returning to Gotham, Wayne takes on the mantle of the Dark Knight and, with the help of stalwart butler Alfred and honest cop Sgt. Jim Gordon, wages war on the city's superstitious, cowardly lot of criminals.
